This Ringaskiddy redevelopment was necessary to allow the Port of Cork to overcome the existing physical constraints in handling larger vessels and to adapt to the changing nature of port activities, including the trend towards port-centred logistics. Being able to accommodate larger vessels was vital for the Port of Cork to remain competitive and future proof Cork as an international gateway for trade.
The areas for development include a new container terminal with an initial 360m berth at Ringaskiddy East, internal road improvements and improvements to the external road entrance into the existing Deepwater Berth and the construction of a new amenity area, including a new public pier and slipway at Paddy’s Point.
Mulligan Fencing supplied and erected Absorptive and Reflective Noise Barriers, which included a Reflective Barrier Double Gate.
